Peaches ©2014 (Political collision and family life.)
Sometimes I wish I was somewhere else when I’m sitting here with you.
I spend a lot of time sitting here. Some days there’s other things I’d rather do.
But I know a day will come when you’re not here.
I’ll be sitting all alone in this house, and I’ll be in tears.
So I until that day I’ll come with my coffee in the morning.
And, we’ll argue over politics.
You’ll tell me there’s no such thing as global warming.
And the dogs will run, and the river will rise.
And you and I will go out back and pick peaches at the end of July.
And I’ll still have those days When there are other things that I’d rather to do.
But chances are on most of those days I’ll find time to come and sit here with you.
And we’ll watch the dogs run, and we’ll watch the river rise.
And you and I will go out back and pick peaches - you and I.
